Australia reached 208/3 because to a brilliant century from Josh Inglis off 50 balls. In his maiden game as India captain, Suryakumar Yadav won the toss and elected to bowl.
Several of Australia’s World Cup champions have been rested, but Steve Smith has started the batting and is playing brilliantly. After opening partner Matthew Short was eventually dismissed by Ravi Bishnoi, Josh Inglis gradually stopped scoring, but he has since taken the game by storm.
With Smith providing support at the other end, he smashed a half-century in just 29 balls. Smith scored just 36 off 23 as the two combined to set up 130 runs off just 66 balls for the second wicket. Inglis finally reached his century in just 47 balls, matching Aaron Finch’s record for the fastest T20I century by an Australian when Smith eventually fell on 52 off 41.
India had a rough start, but with the help of Suryakumar and Ishan Kishan, they stormed back. For the third wicket, the duo scored 112 runs in just 60 balls. Kishan was out for 58 off 39, but Suryakumar has persevered ever since.
After a quickfire 12, Tilak Varma was knocked out, and Rinku Singh has since taken the lead. India had to score seven runs in the final over to win. When Rinku hammered the opening ball for four, it appeared as though India would have an easy day.
Axar Patel was removed after the hitters ran a leg-bye second ball, which abruptly turned the game into a suspenseful contest. With Rinku at bat, India ultimately needed one run to win off the final ball. Sean Abbott overstepped when he hit it for a six, therefore just the one run that resulted from the no-ball was recorded. Rinku concluded with a 22 off 14 score. Earlier, Suryakumar scored 80 points out of 42. India grabbed a 1-0 lead in the five-match series after breaking their own record for the most successful run chase in T20I history.
